They may live in South Florida, but stripped down and right from the soul is where The Short Straw Pickers are coming from.

Each member of this acoustic string band brings a unique element to the group, complimenting their ever-evolving sound. From the virtuosity of Carl Schmid on fiddle and Armando Zuppa on banjo, to the freight train-ryhthm and solid vocal harmonies of Jeff Adkins on bass and Jack "Straw" Schueler on guitar, these guys are packing a serious punch. The pickers usually fill their sets by delving into an extensive list of catchy original tunes, and a consistent knack for spicing up some of the songs we all know. They have played many of the top venues in South Florida while supporting national acts such as Gealic Storm and The Carolina Chocolate Drops. They have been known to team up with other pickers in the area for some legendary super-jams, so you never really know what to expect at a SSP show.......other than some damn fine pickin'
